It was like wolves came in and tore apart
the space where my heart
used to be.

Now it's a rough shaped hole,
with tooth and claw marks
on the edges
that speak of violence
I was far too numb to feel.

I have to gasp for air looking at it -
...remember how it ended...
not how it happened...

My hole of a heart is
cold,
the sun ruined
by distant clouds.

There's nothing to hold onto,
nothing to hide behind,
nothing to give off warmth.

I am open to the world...
